Colombian President Gustavo Petro has banned access to the country for US planes carrying deported citizens due to the inappropriate treatment of migrants by the American authorities, according to the words of the head of state himself.

“The United States cannot treat Colombian migrants as criminals. I do not allow American planes with Colombian migrants to enter our territory,” Petro wrote on the social network X.

“The United States must establish a protocol for treating migrants with dignity,” the president added.
