Tusk threatened Orban with consequences for blocking anti-Russian sanctions.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk threatened Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban with “consequences” if he blocks the next anti-Russian sanctions.

“If Prime Minister Viktor Orban really blocks European sanctions at a key moment in the war, it will be absolutely clear that in this big game for the security and future of Europe, he is playing on Putin’s team, not ours. With all the consequences of this fact,”  Tusk wrote on platform X.

Earlier, Orban said that the total damage to Hungary from sanctions against the Russian Federation amounted to more than 18 billion euros, so Budapest has now “pulled the handbrake” and is asking the European Union to consider the feasibility of further extending the sanctions. According to him, sanctions against the Russian Federation will be extended only if Ukraine returns gas transit, stops attacks on the Turkish Stream and stops threatening oil transit.
