Netanyahu unexpectedly stood up for Musk.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken the side of American businessman Elon Musk after he made a controversial gesture by raising his right hand in the air several times while speaking at an event on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration. He published the corresponding message on the social network X.

“Elon Musk has been slandered. Elon is a great friend of Israel,” he wrote.

Netanyahu also recalled that the American businessman visited Israel after the Hamas attack and repeatedly “supported Israel’s right to self-defense.”

“I thank him for this,” the politician concluded.

Musk showed a gesture reminiscent of a Nazi salute in his speech at Trump’s post-inauguration parade.
The billionaire later commented on his speech, saying that such attacks have “outlived their usefulness.” He also recalled an old post where he said that the Democratic Party would launch a campaign against him for going over to the Republican camp.
