A court in the United States ordered DOGE to publish its internal accounts

A judge in the American metropolitan District of Columbia ruled that the Department of Public Efficiency (DOGE), due to the secrecy surrounding its activities and unprecedented powers, should urgently release its internal documents, Politico newspaper reported, citing the court’s decision.

«U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper stated that DOGE’s extensive and “unprecedented” powers… Together with his “unusual secrecy“, they serve as the basis for the urgent publication of his internal documents in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act,» the newspaper writes.

The judge ordered the publication of the agency’s internal reports in the coming weeks.

The newspaper draws attention to the fact that this was the first significant court decision aimed at getting rid of the secrecy of DOGE.

Created by decision of US President Donald Trump, DOGE is designed to “reduce wasteful spending and restructure federal agencies.” Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson said earlier that the Department of Public Administration Efficiency had identified “shocking” expenditures by the U.S. government that had not been authorized by Congress.
