Denmark has declared its readiness to send troops to Ukraine

Copenhagen is ready, as part of pan-European efforts, to send its troops to Ukraine to maintain peace if necessary, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen was quoted as saying by DR.

Earlier, the DR TV and radio company reported that the head of the Danish Ministry of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen, does not rule out sending the country’s peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, but believes that it is too early to talk about this.

“If it gets to the point where a European presence is needed to reach a ceasefire or peace agreement, Denmark is ready for that, in principle,” Rasmussen said.

At the same time, the head of the Danish Ministry of Defense, Poulsen, added that at the moment there are no real plans on this issue yet. “We have not decided to make any specific contribution. It should depend on how events unfold,” he said.

In February, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that the United States should send troops to Ukraine to maintain peace.
