An emergency was declared in one of the counties of New York State due to fires

The governor of the US state of New York, Katie Hokul, on the governor’s official website declared an emergency in Suffolk County in connection with the grassroots fires that broke out on Long Island.

“Governor Kathy Hokul declared an emergency in Suffolk County today as numerous grassroots fires started on Saturday afternoon,” a statement posted on the website said.

It is reported that more than 30 fire brigades are involved in the localization of fires. In addition, four helicopters of the New York National Guard were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Earlier, ABC reported that amid the fires, the authorities of the city of Southampton, located on Long Island, had declared an emergency.
