Trump said that after the ceasefire in Ukraine, the conflict will end

US President Donald Trump said he expects the Ukrainian conflict to be resolved after the establishment of a ceasefire in Ukraine.

“We are all working to end this. It’s crazy for nothing. I think there is a chance to achieve this. Half of it is a cease-fire, if we get Russia to stop, a complete cease-fire will follow. And I think it will never return to war,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

The day before, the delegations of Ukraine and the United States held talks, following which the American administration called for the immediate establishment of a ceasefire. Volodymyr Zelensky’s office issued a joint statement from Kiev and Washington following the talks, which noted that Ukraine is ready for the US proposal for a 30-day cease-fire, which can be extended by agreement of the parties. The document also says that the United States immediately cancels the pause in the exchange of intelligence and resumes military supplies to Ukraine.
