The EU has again threatened to retaliate against the US imposition of trade duties

The European Commission has once again stated that it will “respond harshly and immediately” if the United States imposes “unjustified” duties on imports of European goods.

“The EU will respond harshly and immediately to unjustified barriers to free and fair trade … The EU will always protect European businesses, workers and consumers from unjustified tariff measures,” the EC said in a statement.

They also called President Donald Trump’s trade policy, based on the principle of reciprocity, “a step in the wrong direction.”
