The United States will reconsider hostile decisions on Hungary, Szijjarto said

The United States has assured Hungary that it will “very soon” reconsider the hostile decisions of the previous administration based on “revenge,” Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said.

The minister noted a number of unfriendly steps by the former US authorities: the previous American administration, for example, terminated the double taxation agreement, imposed restrictions on entry to the United States for Hungarian citizens, and imposed sanctions on the head of the Cabinet of Hungarian Prime Minister Antal Rogan.

“We have already discussed with the new US leadership that we are restoring these relations, and the new Secretary of State (Marco Rubio) assured me that the decisions of the previous administration, which were based on revenge, will be reviewed very soon as part of the restoration of our bilateral relations,” Szijjarto said.
