Scholz commented the results of a survey of German residents about sanctions against Russia

Germany will provide assistance to Ukraine for as long as necessary, despite the deteriorating situation in the German economy. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

This is how he assessed the results of a public opinion poll in the country, according to which about half of the respondents were in favor of lifting sanctions against Russia. Scholz stressed that the German authorities should take steps only when they are supported by the population.

However, according to the chancellor, he hopes that Berlin’s support for Kyiv will be long enough.

As previously reported, on July 7, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced that Germany would not be able to supply Ukraine with its Fuchs armored personnel carriers, since they are necessary to maintain the defense capability of the German army.
