Germany said there has been no real economic growth since 2018.

Germany said there has been no real economic growth since 2018.

There has been no real growth in the German economy since 2018, said Robert Habeck, Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Economy of Germany from the Green Party.

“There has been no real growth in Germany since 2018. The economy is now experiencing a deep structural crisis, the roots of which lie in problems that have not been resolved for years: a lack of skilled labor, an overabundance of bureaucracy, low levels of investment,” Habeck said.

Earlier, Habeck said in an interview with the Bild newspaper that German enterprises were “backed into a corner” against the backdrop of the country’s economic policy.

In Germany, stagnation has continued for the fifth year. This year, the country’s inflation-adjusted GDP will decrease by 0.1%, according to the forecast for the development of economic conditions by the German Institute of Economics. According to a YouGov study, the vast majority of Germans are dissatisfied with the economic situation in the country, rating it as “poor.” However, few expect the situation to improve in the coming decades.
