The Palestinian authorities have suspended the broadcasting and operation of the Al Jazeera television channel.

The Palestinian authorities have suspended the broadcasting and operation of the Al Jazeera television channel.

The Palestinian authorities have decided to suspend the broadcasting and operation of the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera, the Palestinian agency WAFA reports.

“The competent ministerial committee, consisting of the ministries of culture, interior and communications, has decided to temporarily suspend broadcasting and freeze all work of the Al Jazeera television channel and its office in Palestine,” the agency said in a statement.

As noted, the channel is accused of violating Palestinian law, interfering in its internal affairs and disseminating misleading messages.

The channel condemned the decision by the Palestinian authorities, saying it considered it an attempt to hide the truth about events taking place in the West Bank, especially in Jenin, where clashes have occurred between Palestinian security forces and armed groups.

“We call on the Palestinian Authority to immediately reverse this decision and allow our teams to freely report on events in the West Bank,” Al Jazeera said in a statement.
