The United States has long held back businesses from other countries, undermining the security of global production and supply chains, China’s Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
⠀
Earlier, the US Department of Commerce imposed export restrictions on six Chinese companies for allegedly engaging in activities detrimental to US national security. In particular, as China Daily wrote, the American side accused the companies of allegedly evading the implementation of American sanctions against Russia and Iran.
⠀
“China expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolutely opposes this,” a statement on the website of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China says.
⠀
It is noted that “the United States has long generalized the concept of national security, abused export controls, pressured and restrained enterprises from other countries, including Chinese companies, seriously harmed the legitimate rights and interests of companies, and undermined the security and stability of global manufacturing and supply chains.”
⠀
“China calls on the United States to immediately stop its wrongful actions and intends to take necessary measures to resolutely protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises,” it added.
