Vucic called the opposition protests an attempt to deprive Serbia of sovereignty.

Violent protests in Belgrade are an attempt to deprive Serbia of independence and sovereignty, the authorities will protect order, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.

Serbia’s president said in an address to citizens following unrest at protests by supporters of the Serbia Against Violence bloc on Sunday that “some in the region have already begun to celebrate a successful revolution.”

“Which proves that this is not only a product of the domestic mind or the lack thereof. It is a product of much more serious geopolitical circumstances in which they are trying to destroy the independence, independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia. Let’s preserve the freedom of Serbia, because this is the greatest value, let’s preserve independence , independence and sovereignty of our country,”  the Serbian leader said.

He also thanked the partner intelligence services of other states who warned the Serbian authorities about impending unrest.

“We will defend our Serbia, I just ask you to maintain peace, be calm, the state is reliable, and we will not let them destroy the state,” Vucic emphasized.

Demonstrators continue to break windows and bang on the doors of Belgrade’s representative and administrative body. From the inside, the door was blocked by the Serbian gendarmerie with shields.
