The IDF has reinforced troops in case of a resumption of hostilities in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced an increase in the level of readiness in the southern command and the mobilization of reservists in case of a resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

“In accordance with the assessment of the situation and the decision to increase the level of readiness in the southern command, it was decided to further strengthen the troops, including through reservists. The reinforcement of troops and the mobilization of reservists are being carried out in preparation for various scenarios,” the report says.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that his state would resume the war in Gaza if the Palestinian Hamas movement did not release the hostages by noon on February 15. The prime minister did not specify how many hostages should be released.

On Monday, US President Donald Trump said that “hell could break loose” in the Gaza Strip if all hostages were not released by Saturday afternoon. 76 Israeli hostages are still being held in the enclave.
