The Germans were offered to wait out the winter in Greece

Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias invited German pensioners to wait out the winter in the Mediterranean amid the gas crisis in Germany.

“In autumn and winter, we Greeks will be happy to welcome German pensioners who want to experience the Mediterranean winter with Greek hospitality, mild weather and high quality services. We will be waiting for you here,” Kikilias said.

The mayor of the port city of Chania, Panagiotis Simandirakis, also noted that in Greece, the Germans will not have to think about heating their homes.

“We invite every German who wants to come to us this winter to live here away from crises. Chania is the perfect place to get through the crisis winter: warm, friendly people and perhaps the best year-round climate in all of Europe. We do not need heating in the house,” the mayor said.
