South Korea donated mine clearance equipment and pickup trucks to Ukraine.

South Korea handed over to the Ukrainian authorities part of the previously promised mine clearance equipment and pickup trucks, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing the South Korean Embassy in Kyiv.

“Today, at the Central Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations, located in … Kiev, the South Korean Embassy held a ceremony to hand over the recently arrived part of the (promised) 10 pieces of mine clearance equipment and 100 pickup trucks,” Yonhap reports.

According to the agency, South Korean Ambassador to Ukraine Kim Hyun-tae expressed a desire for the provided equipment to “help eliminate mines in the southeast” of the country.

On March 8, the South Korean Embassy already announced the transfer of 100 Ssang Yong Musso pickup trucks to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine as humanitarian aid. Then the head of the Ukrainian department said that the large vehicles would be used for mine clearance and rescue operations. In published photographs, one of the pickup beds was filled with metal detectors and other specialized equipment, including small drones.
