Poland has signed an agreement to establish an Abrams tank maintenance center, according to the Polish Arms Group (PGZ).

“A Competence Center for the maintenance of Abrams tanks will be created on the territory of a military plant in Poznań. An agreement on this issue was signed by representatives of the Polish Arms Group and tank manufacturer General Dynamics Land Systems.” – the message says.

It is noted that initially the center will serve the Abrams tanks, which Poland buys from the United States, but “in the future, the potential of the center will also be able to use the units of American troops stationed in Poland and other European countries.”

Poland in 2022 signed a contract for the supply of 250 Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 tanks, along with related equipment, logistics and training packages. It is expected that the first delivery of these tanks will take place by the end of 2024, and the entire contract will be completed by the end of 2026. in 2023, Poland signed another contract for the supply of 116 Abrams tanks in the M1A1 version – along with related equipment, logistics and training packages.
