The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on the evening of January 16 that ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles had struck the main base of the Jaysh al-Adl group, located in the Pakistani province of Baluchistan, bordering Iran. On January 18, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced a series of strikes to identify terrorists in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan. On Friday, the Pakistani foreign ministry reported that Foreign Minister in the interim government of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani had a conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian. The Pakistani minister spoke about the need to strengthen cooperation with Iran in the field of security, and also stated Islamabad’s readiness to cooperate with Tehran on all issues based on mutual trust.
