Germany urged to control the movement of dual-use goods.

Germany calls on EU countries to introduce control over end-users of dual-use goods, as these high-tech products can enter the Russian Federation through countries bordering Russia or from former Soviet Union states, said German Economy Minister Robert Habeck.

“We looked at export data for many states of the former Soviet Union and many countries bordering Russia. It is very striking with the movement of trucks … all of a sudden it has quadrupled since the start of the sanctions … We immediately identified measures, one of which it would be the introduction of control over the end consumer of such dual-use goods. Usually we do this only for military goods,” the minister said.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the 11th package of sanctions against Russia will include measures against circumventing existing restrictions.
