A court in the United States banned the expulsion of migrants under a 1798 law

A court in the United States demanded that the expulsion of migrants from the country by planes be stopped according to the law of the XVIII century, which was previously sought by American President Donald Trump.

“Any plane with these people that is about to take off or is in the air must be returned to the United States, no matter how it is done. Do everything you can to ensure that this is done immediately,”  District of Columbia Judge James Boasberg said.

Earlier, the court ordered the temporary postponement of the deportation of five Venezuelans on the basis of the 1798 law, which was planned by the administration of US President Donald Trump.

Now the court has extended this decision to all migrants whom the new US authorities are trying to expel from the country in accordance with this law.

A temporary ban has been imposed for 14 days, pending the determination of the legality of Trump’s order.

At the same time, at the time of the court’s decision, several American planes carrying deported Venezuelans took off from Texas, another plane was heading to El Salvador and another to Honduras, while the last two were approaching their destinations.

On the day of his inauguration on January 20, Trump, in his first speech as the 47th president of the United States, promised to immediately stop the entry of illegal immigrants into American territory and begin the process of extraditing millions of migrants. He also imposed a nationwide state of emergency in connection with the situation on the southern border of the United States.
