UN Security Council unanimously adopted a statement on Ukraine

UN Security Council unanimously adopted a statement on Ukraine

For the first time since the beginning of the special military operation of the Russian Federation, the UN Security Council adopted a unanimous statement on Ukraine.

“I will take it that the members of the Security Council agree with this statement, which will be published as an official document of the Security Council,” US Deputy Representative to the UN Richard Mills announced. The statement said that “the Security Council expresses its deep concern about the maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine.” The Security Council recalls that all member states have assumed, in accordance with the UN Charter, the obligation to resolve their international disputes by peaceful means. “The Security Council expresses its support for the Secretary General’s efforts to find a peaceful solution,” the statement said. The Security Council also asks the UN Secretary General to inform him accordingly after the adoption of this statement.
