The United States will not allow Iran to create nuclear weapons, the candidate for Secretary of State said.

The next White House administration led by President Donald Trump should be open to possible new agreements with Iran,  candidate for the post of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.

“My view is that we should be open to any agreement that will allow us to ensure security and stability in the region while being clear-eyed about possible concessions on our part to the Iranian regime,” Rubio said.

At the same time, Rubio stressed that “under no circumstances” can Washington allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons, as well as regain resources that, according to the United States, are used to support terrorist groups in the region.
