The NATO Secretary General called on the alliance countries to prepare for war.

NATO countries must switch their thinking to wartime and increase defense spending, Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte said at a meeting of the bloc’s Military Committee at the level of chiefs of general staff in Brussels.

“To prevent war, we must prepare for it. Now is the time to shift our thinking to wartime, and that means further strengthening our defenses through increased defense spending and defense production,” he said.

In turn, the head of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Alliance, Admiral Rob Bauer, noted that NATO is concerned about the role that China plays in the international security system.

He claims that Beijing has allegedly become “the main party providing support for Russia’s military actions.” Bauer added that NATO countries must unite and “be more united than ever.”
