The Pentagon has signed a contract for the production of heavy army vehicles.

The US Department of Defense has awarded a contract to Oshkosh for the production of heavy military vehicles for approximately $1.54 billion, the department said in a statement.

“Oshkosh Defense LLC, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, was awarded a $1 billion 541 million 861 thousand 429 contract… for a family of heavy tactical vehicles,” the statement said.

According to the company’s website, such vehicles are capable of transporting heavy armored vehicles, including tanks, and act as container ships.
