The US Department of Energy has called for modernizing the arsenal of nuclear weapons

In an interview with Fox News, US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright believes that Washington needs to modernize its arsenal of nuclear weapons.

“During the Second World War, the United States achieved an incredible achievement as part of the Manhattan Project – it created the world’s first atomic weapon. This made it possible to end World War II earlier, saving tens or hundreds of thousands of American lives… Then came a three-decade period that went without the creation of new nuclear weapons, which led to the obsolescence of our entire arsenal. What we need now is not to build up nuclear stockpiles, but to modernize weapons,” Wright said.

The US Secretary of Energy also said that the main thing about nuclear weapons is not to use them.
