Szijjarto explained why Hungary is not suing Kiev over Transcarpathia

Hungary sees no point in suing Kiev for infringing on the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians, as most international courts are politically biased,  the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said.

“We do not see any rational reasons, since most international institutions are very biased and politically motivated, and they cannot draw a line between the rights of national minorities and geopolitics,” Szijjarto said, answering a relevant question.

Earlier, the minister said that Hungary would not agree to any steps towards Ukraine’s admission to the European Union until the rights of the Hungarian national community in Transcarpathia were restored.

He called the attempts of Kiev and Brussels to present the problem as far-fetched outrageous. He also recalled that a national consultation on Ukraine’s accession to the EU will be held in Hungary in the coming weeks, and without unanimous approval, new members will be accepted neither into the EU nor into the nation.
