Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held an emergency meeting with a number of officials, during which he emphasized the right of the Palestinian people to self-defense against Israeli troops and settlers.

Mahmoud Abbas held an emergency leadership meeting that included a number of civilian officials and security chiefs.

Abbas reportedly emphasized the Palestinian people’s right to self-defense against settler terrorism and Israeli forces.

It is noted that the Palestinian leader instructed to “provide everything that is necessary to strengthen the resilience of the Palestinian people.”


The military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement earlier announced Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel and said it had fired 5,000 rockets. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the launch of Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. IDF spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari said more than 2,000 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel. The death toll in Israel has risen to 20 amid the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
