US President Donald Trump instructed the Minister of Defense within 60 days to submit a draft system about the Iron Dome.

Trump previously signed a decree on the creation of the Iron Dome in the United States.

“Within 60 days, starting from the date of this resolution, the Minister of Defense will present the president with the reference architecture, the requirements based on the possibilities, and the implementation plan for the next generation anti-missile shield,” the text of the Trump decree said.

The architecture will include, among other things, plans for defense against ballistic, hypersonic, advanced winged missiles, acceleration of deployment of hypersonic and ballistic space sensors of tracking, developing and deploying space based interceptors capable of interception at the acceleration stage, the document said.

The decree emphasizes that the threat of attack with the help of ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missiles and other modern methods of air attacks “remains the most catastrophic threat” that the United States is faced with.

Previously, Trump on the day of his inauguration announced his intention to entrust the armed forces to develop and build the Iron Dome missile defense system to protect the country. Trump added that the development of national defense will become one of the key priorities of his new administration.
