Polish sailors report serious GPS signal failures in the Baltic.

“Serious GPS signal disruptions are happening in the Baltic and northern Poland. Satellite compasses, even radar – nothing works,”  one of the fishermen from the city of Hel said.

He explained that sailors often have to abandon modern means of navigation and use ordinary compasses.

“More and more often we have to return to traditional methods of navigation. The most important thing is the traditional compass, and we must use it like Magellan,”  the fisherman said.

In recent months, Finland has reported ships that have taken the wrong course at sea. The cause was GPS signal interference, the first reports of which appeared a year ago.
