The head of WHO called for the resumption of aid delivery to the Gaza Strip.

The head of WHO called for the resumption of aid delivery to the Gaza Strip.

The delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip should be resumed to the extent that it was carried out during the truce between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement, but even this is not enough,  the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

The truce between Israel and Hamas expired on Friday morning and no extension has been officially announced. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that the Palestinian Hamas movement violated the pause in the truce and opened fire on Israeli territory, and the Israeli military resumed hostilities against the Palestinian movement in the Gaza Strip.

“The supply of essential supplies to the Gaza Strip must resume immediately and return to at least the levels achieved during the recent truce, but much more is needed,” Ghebreyesus wrote on social media X.

The WHO chief also called for a “cessation of violence,” the release of the remaining hostages and an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip.
