The EU will not accelerate work on its new defense strategy against the background of US statements, and will present it on March 19, European Commission spokesman Tom Rainier said at a briefing in Brussels.

“I can confirm that we are developing our strategy based on our own defense needs, and yes, we plan to present it on March 19,” he said, answering a question from reporters about whether the European Commission is going to accelerate work on a defense strategy after recent statements by the new American administration.
