US President Donald Trump’s media company, Trump Media& Technology Group, has sued Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Alexandri de Morais, accusing him of censorship against right-wing supporters.
⠀
“Trump Media & The Technology Group, majority owned by Trump and which runs his Truth Social website, sued Brazilian judge Alexandri de Morais in the U.S. federal court in Tampa on Wednesday morning,” the New York Times reports.
⠀
It is noted that the media company accused Judge di Morais of censoring political discourse in the United States and violating the law due to a request to the Rumble video platform to delete the accounts of some Brazilian right-wing experts.
⠀
The lawsuit could have been an attempt to put pressure on the judge, as it was filed a few hours after the indictment against the former Brazilian president was received.
⠀
Earlier, the Brazilian Prosecutor General’s Office accused ex-President Jair Bolsonaro of an attempted coup in 2022 and a number of other crimes.
⠀
Back in 2024, American entrepreneur Elon Musk offered di Morais to resign due to his alleged consistent violation of the Brazilian constitution, promising to publish his requests for the removal of materials from the social network. A court in Brazil has decided to launch an investigation into Musk after accusing the judge.
