The British Navy reported a “suspicious approach” to a ship off the coast of Yemen.

The Royal Navy’s UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) said on Sunday it had received information about a suspicious approach to a vessel off the Yemeni port of Mokha (Mokka).

“UKMTO received a report of an incident 13 nautical miles (about 24 kilometers) south of Moha, Yemen,” the department’s website says.

The incident is classified as a suspicious encounter.
The ruling Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement in northern Yemen, which controls most of Yemen’s Red Sea coast, previously announced its support for Palestine and its intention to attack any ships associated with Israel, calling on other countries to recall their crews from them and not approach them in the sea. At the same time, they stated that they do not interfere with freedom of navigation in the region and do not interfere with ships of other countries. Amid the attacks in the Red Sea, some companies have decided to suspend transportation through the Red Sea.
