The Prosecutor General’s Office in Ankara has opened an investigation into the terrorist attack at the facility of the aerospace company TUSAŞ, Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunç said on Wednesday.

There were dead and injured as a result of the terrorist attack in the Turkish capital Ankara, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said earlier on Wednesday. An explosion occurred on Wednesday in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara near the building of the Turkish corporation TUSAŞ, a manufacturer of military aircraft and space equipment, followed by shooting, Turkish media reported.

“The Ankara Prosecutor General’s Office has begun an investigation into the vile terrorist attack; one prosecutor general and eight republican prosecutors have been entrusted with it,” Tunç wrote on the social network X.
⠀
The Habertürk TV channel noted that there may be hostages in the building, and gunfire can be heard from time to time.

TUSAŞ is developing the Turkish fifth-generation Kaan fighter, Anka attack drones, and modernizing F-16 fighters. In addition to the manufacturing center, the area is home to USET’s spacecraft and satellite testing center.
