Silent Protest In Paris Demands Climate Change Smmit To Act

The international conference on climate change is to kick off Monday in French capital Paris and ahead of it 20,000 pairs of empty shoes were seen laid out in the Place de la Republique in protest after the global warming protesters were not permitted to march due to security reasons following multiple deadly attacks in the city on November 13 that killed 129 people and injured 300 others.

Media people and country delegations have started dribbling in the venue and environmental advocacy groups marched outside the city. More security guards than negotiators were seen in and around the empty conference center where intense talks are expected for the next two weeks.

The lower level officials are reported to start the talks late Sunday and on the following day over 140 leaders including US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin are expected to arrive.

Meanwhile, protests were also seen in 2,000 places across the world including cities like London, Berlin, Sydney, New York and Sao Paulo.
