Queen guitarist praises Swiss soldiers for 2013 version of ‘We Will Rock You’

Queen guitarist Brian May praised the Swiss soldiers for their version of the old hit ‘We will rock you’, saying that he feels very honoured, TheLocal reported.

Queen guitarist highly appreciated the Swiss Army – not for its soldiering but for its musicianship. After the rock legend heard a stonkin’ rendition of ‘We Will Rock You’, he was delighted. ‘Never in my wildest dreams,’ wrote May in his Instagram.

The video shows soldiers during a military parade at the Alpnach Air Base in the canton of Obwalden in 2013. A yellow Swiss post bus can even be seen in the background.

In fact, the legendary band Queen had an old good connection with Switzerland with the band recording at the Mountain Studios in Montreux from 1978 to 1995. Moreover, Switzerland pays a special tribute to Freddy Mercury, a statue of the rockstar in Geneva where every year his fans gather in Montreux on September 5th to celebrate the anniversary of his birth.
