The Czech Republic will continue to fully support Ukraine and will fulfill all its obligations, in particular, to supply 500 thousand artillery shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the end of this year, his Czech colleague Jan Lipavsky, who arrived on a visit to Kyiv on Friday, said after negotiations with the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andrei Sibiga.

“The Czech Republic has supported Ukraine from the first days of the outbreak of hostilities and will continue to support it. In particular, by the end of this year the promised supply of 500 thousand artillery pieces for the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be realized. These deliveries will continue next year,” Lipavsky, who during the period after February 24, 2022, arrived on a visit to Kyiv for the fourth time, said.

The visit of the head of Czech diplomacy to Kyiv took place a day after Russia launched one of its newest medium-range missiles equipped with a conventional warhead into Ukraine. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, this was a reaction to the actions of the West, which allowed Kyiv to use supplied missiles against targets on Russian territory. Both Lipavsky and Sibiga called this an escalation of the conflict and a show of force on the part of Moscow.

In Kyiv, Lipavsky will also meet with the head of the Ukrainian government Denis Shmygal. It is unclear whether Lipavsky will meet with Vladimir Zelensky.
The Czech Republic is one of the largest suppliers of military materials for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the period after February 24, 2022. As Czech TV previously reported, during this time weapons worth 7.3 billion crowns (about 288.7 million euros) were supplied to Ukraine.
