Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recorded an unusual video message to Lebanese residents calling on them to leave areas where the Shiite Hezbollah movement stores weapons; the prime minister warned that being near these places is life-threatening.

“I have a message for the people of Lebanon. Israel is not at war with you, but with Hezbollah. For too long, Hezbollah has used you as a human shield. It has placed rockets in your living rooms and garages. These rockets and shells are aimed directly at our cities and on our citizens. To protect our people from Hezbollah attacks, we must eliminate these weapons,” the prime minister said.

The prime minister recalled the morning call by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for the Lebanese to leave the areas where Hezbollah weapons are deployed.

I urge you to take this warning seriously. Don’t let Hezbollah put your lives and the lives of your loved ones in danger. Don’t let Hezbollah endanger Lebanon,” Netanyahu said.
