American entrepreneur Elon Musk called for the resignation of California Governor Gavin Newsom amid the situation with deadly fires in Los Angeles.

“Absolutely,” Musk wrote on social network X, commenting on a post by one social network user in which he said it was time to vote for the resignation of Newsom, who has failed the state on many levels.

Previously, US President-elect Donald Trump also said that Newsom should resign. As Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social, the best and most beautiful areas of the United States are burning to the ground.

Los Angeles County is under mandatory evacuation orders for tens of thousands of residents. The county’s fire chief acknowledged that resources were designed to fight one or two major fires, but not four at a time. Compounding the situation, high winds temporarily grounded aviation operations and left fire hydrants inoperable in the Palisades area.

The fires have already been called one of the most destructive in the history of Los Angeles County. Another major fire, the Eaton Fire, has burned more than 10,000 hectares in the Altadena area and threatens the safety of about 13,000 buildings.
