NATO will spend more than a billion dollars on ammunition production.

NATO will additionally purchase artillery shells worth more than a billion dollars, which will allow it to continue supporting Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a briefing in Brussels.

“We just signed more than $1.2 billion in contracts for hundreds of thousands of 155mm ammunition,” he said.

According to Stoltenberg, the conflict in Ukraine has “turned into a battle for ammunition”, so it is important that members of the bloc can replenish their supplies and continue to support Kyiv.

The Secretary General promised to discuss increasing military production on Tuesday at a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of permanent representatives, in addition, NATO defense ministers will discuss this topic in February.
