Fourteen have been left dead and 17 others injured in a mass shooting in San Bernardinoz, California, Wednesday when three shooters targeted a banquet hosted by the County’s Department of Public Health in an auditorium for about 100 attendees.

According to San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan, two of the suspects, a man and a woman, who fled from a home in Redlands after the arrival of police, have been killed in exchange of gunfire. One officer is wounded too, but not in life-threatening condition.

A third person is reported to have been detained and yet his connection to the shooting is not known. The pursuit has ended.

The mass shooting started at 10:59 a.m. PST and at 11:14 a.m. the San Bernardino Fire Department tweeted they are responding to an emergency on the 1300 block of Waterman Avenue. Roads were closed in the area for traffic and police were working to clear the site.
