Maduro expressed hope for the following steps in the dialogue with Washington

The Venezuela leader Nicholas Maduro, following negotiations with the specialized US President, Richard Grenell, said Venezuela hopes to continue the dialogue with the new Washington administration.

According to the Venezuela government earlier, Maduro and Grenell discussed at a meeting in Karakas on Friday the issues of migration, sanctions and Venezuelan prisoners with US citizenship, confirming the need to change relations.

“All peoples have the right to peace, to independence, have the right to progress. Well, let’s embody it in reality. And from free, sovereign and Bolivarian Venezuela, we tell President Donald Trump: we have taken the first step, we hope that it will be stable”, Maduro said.  The broadcast of the event was conducted in YouTube by his administration.

According to Maduro, before the “frank, direct and open” conversation with him, the Messenger of Trump himself met with the speaker of the National Assembly Horge Rodriguez and Vice President Delcy Rodriguez.

“There are questions on which we have reached preliminary agreements. As they decide, new topics will open – let’s hope that this is for the sake of new agreements, for the benefit of both countries and our entire region. We will carefully monitor that the announced information strictly Corrected in the content of negotiations, ” Maduro added.

The politician explained that the “zero agenda” proposed by him in the negotiations may mean a new beginning of historical relations. In addition, at the moment, there are simply no bases for the development of ties, since the United States “has not fulfilled a single agreement.”
