Maddox Jolie-Pitt grew up in the famous family, his parents were one of the most powerful couples in Hollywood. So, Brangelina’s eldest offspring knows very well what kind of profession he is going to dedicate his life to. For the first time, the 15-year-old Maddox became a producer in the mother’s movie ‘First They Killed My Father’.
Angelina Jolie noted in an interview that the idea of her new movie belongs to her son Maddox who was born in Cambodia. After deciding to adapt the Loung Ung book, she put it on hold to work on other projects and avoid controversy in Cambodia. But he convinced her to pick it back up.
The directing the movie was a very inspiring process, Jolie consulted Maddox. The actress said:
“He was the one who just called it and said he was ready and that he wanted to work on it, which he did. He read the script, helped with notes, and was in the production meetings.”
Jolie decided to make the film to understand her son’s country of origin even more, the author Ung told that the film about dark times of Pol Pot regime for Jolie was very especial.

Angelina took all her kids to Cambodia, after premiering in Cambodia on February 18, whole actress’ family had an audience at the King’s Palace. The Hollywood star was happy to back to this lovely country, she stressed:
“We’ve been coming back and forth for 17 years, it feels like a second home to me. The children have close ties to the children here, many of them are their best friends. Maddox is happy to be back in his country.”
