Germans in Ramstein protest against US drone operations

More than 2,000 demonstrators outside an American air base in Germany’s Ramstein created a human chain to stage their collective protest against the US Drone Operation.

Ramstein Airbase in Germany became a place of demonstration, more than 2,000 people have formed a human chain along the perimeter of the US Air Force Base on Saturday. EU citizens, mainly Germans, said the base in Ramstein serves as the headquarters for the US Air Force in Europe, So, the base transmits data to or from drone operators located at bases on the US soil as well as killer drones operating over countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Yemen.

This protest action named “Stop Ramstein, No Drone War” was organized to note that allowing data for drone deployments to be routed through Ramstein goes against the Constitution of Germany. That’s why thousands of protesters demand the shutdown of the US base’s satellite relay station.
