President Erdogan assured the partners and allies that Turkey will never recognize or support the peace plan elaborated by the United States. So-called ‘deal of the century’ is not able to bring peace to the Middle East, the Turkish leader stressed.
Recep Erdogan said that Ankara will never accept the US’ ‘peace plan’ aimed at the settlement of Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to the Turkish President, the document means annexation of the occupied Palestinian territories, not bringing peace to the fragile region.
On Friday, Mr Erdogan had a meeting with the provincial heads of his ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party in the capital Ankara. During the event, the Turkish President shared his opinion regarding the US plan, according to Mehr News Agency.
“This plan aims annexation of the occupied Palestine territories,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said and stressed that Jerusalem al-Quds is a “red line” for Turkey. The most bitter moment is on Tuesday, Donald Trump has unveiled his so-called deal of the century, negotiated with Israel but without the Palestinians present.
Erdogan reiterated that Ankara sees Jerusalem ss the key to world peace as it has been for thousands of years. The Turkish president drew attention to the important aspect such as the “rogue state” of Israel, which executes innocents on the streets, can never be credible for Turkey.
“Leaving Jerusalem entirely in Israel’s bloody claws will be the greatest evil for all humanity,” he added.
The US peace plan will never be approved by Palestinians
Palestinian leaders, who severed all ties with the US in late 2017 after Trump controversially recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime, immediately condemned the plan. In fact, President Mahmoud Abbas said the US plan “belongs to the dustbin of history.”
Since Tuesday, when Trump unveiled the ‘deal of the century’, thousands of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip took to the streets to strongly condemn the US strategy aimed at such a rude ‘settlement’ of Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In addition, Iran’s President condemned the deal as “the most despicable plan of the century.” He was supported as well by the leaders of Bahrain, Syria and Lebanon, while Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that plan aims annexation of the occupied Palestine territories, not bringing peace to the region.
