Emmanuel Macron tested positive for coronavirus

The French President Emmanuel Macron joins an expanding list of world leaders to catch the novel pathogen, Irish Examiner reported.

Emmanuel Macron becomes the latest EU leader who was tested positive for COVID-19. The French leader joined a long list of others just as inoculation drives against the disease are beginning in a number of nations.

The 42-year-old Macron has repeatedly said he is sticking to the health protocols during the outbreak. The president wasn’t shaking hands, wearing a face mask and keeping a social distance from other people.

As the Elysee Palace announced on Thursday, President Macron will be isolated for one week.
