Argentina will leave WHO after the USA

Argentina, following the United States, is leaving the World Health Organization, the official representative of the country’s president, Manuel Adorni, told reporters.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump signed decrees on the country’s withdrawal from the WHO. The new administration believes that WHO is not effective enough, is under political influence and requires too much funding from the United States. The president of Argentina is, by his own admission, a big fan of Trump.

“President Miley has instructed the Foreign Minister to terminate Argentina’s participation in the World Health Organization,” Adorni said.

According to him, the organization’s activities cause deep disagreements regarding the management of the healthcare system, especially during the pandemic.

“We, Argentines, will not allow an international organization to interfere in our sovereignty, and even more so in our health,” Adorni said.

He added that Argentina does not receive funding from WHO, and therefore withdrawal from the organization will not lead to a loss of funds for the country and will not affect the quality of services.
