China’s President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping announced the readiness of his country to cooperate with Laos in order to eliminate coronavirus.
Over the decades, both Laos and China share common interests and cherish their friendship, said Xi. In his Monday verbal message, Chinese President also assured his Lao counterpart Bounnhang Vorachith, in a final victory will surely be achieved in the battle against the epidemic.
Expressing his pleasure to receive a warm and friendly letter from Mr Bounnhang, the Chinese leader said he is deeply gratified to know that China’s assistance has a positive impact in Laos’ fight against the novel pathogen.
President Xi extended sincere congratulations to the Lao people on the initial victory the neighbouring nation has achieved in COVID-19 prevention and control. All these achievements of the Lao President mean a lot amid the coronacrisis.
Meanwhile, Beijing is willing to maintain close communication and coordination with the Lao side in international and regional affairs to advance the relationship between China and ASEAN in a healthy way and promote peace, stability and development.
Commenting on the traditional cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, President Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of these relations. The two parties and nations lead by Communists will stand ready to work to eliminate the coronavirus in the Asian region.
As Xi added, Bounnhang should push for sound implementation of the important consensuses the two sides have reached, and steadily carry forward the building of the China-Laos community with a shared future, so as to create more benefits for the two countries and their people.
