China expresses strong dissatisfaction with US military assistance to Taiwan and has made a stern representation to Washington, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on Sunday.
⠀
“The United States is once again providing military assistance and selling weapons to Chinese Taiwan, this seriously violates the “one China” principle and the provisions of the three joint Sino-American communiqués,” the department said in a statement.
⠀
Beijing noted that such a move by Washington “seriously violates China’s sovereignty and its security interests.”
⠀
“This seriously violates the commitment of US leaders not to support Taiwan independence, and also sends serious wrong signals to pro-Taiwan independence separatists. China expresses strong dissatisfaction, strongly opposes this and immediately sent a stern representation to the US,” it said.
⠀
The Chinese Foreign Ministry also pointed out that the Taiwan issue affects the fundamental interests of China, this is the main red line in relations between China and the United States, which cannot be crossed.
⠀
“By helping Taiwan achieve independence with the help of weapons, the United States can only set itself on fire, and attempts to contain China with the help of Taiwan are doomed to failure,” the ministry emphasized.
⠀
The Foreign Ministry called on the United States to immediately stop arming Taiwan and stop dangerous actions that undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
⠀
“China will take all necessary actions to resolutely protect national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity,” the diplomats assured.

Outgoing US President Joe Biden on Saturday announced $571 million in military aid to Taiwan under the President’s authority to allocate foreign aid from US weapons and military equipment stockpiles.
